Successful Cobh CAHWT public meeting

Some of the 50 strong audience at the Cobh CAHWT public meeting last night (11 April), listening to Anne McShane (Cobh), Therese Jones (Cobh) & Mick Barry (Cork Northside) and engaging in an interesting discussion on how to take the campaign forward from here.

The question of CAHWT standing candidates in the 2014 council elections was the issue which dominated the discussion, though far from exclusively, with a range of opinions being expressed and the meeting being fairly evenly split in support for the different views articulated as far as I could judge from reactions to those who spoke on the question. This is an issue that the Cobh CAHWT will be taking a more definitive position on at its next activist meeting on 18 April.
