clare daly on RTE “This Week” radio programme

SP position that she left because of a difference over Mick Wallace is “absolute nonsense” and a “complete lie”. She describes the difference as being over building the ULA.

I’m sorry to disappoint, but Clare has never to my knowledge expressed the slightest disagreement with the Socialist Party’s attitude to the ULA up until yesterday. And, to be blunt about it, if she had done so, I would have expected her to argue for a more skeptical attitude.

I guess we will see – her committment to building the ULA and moving it forward will be tested almost immediately I would imagine.

That’s a slightly different question. Now that the ULA is her only political home, I would expect her to be as hard working for it as she always for the SP. But that’s a consequence of her resignation, not the cause. Clare was at about the least interested in the ULA point on the SP spectrum.

Well there is building and there is building. If what you say is true then it would indicate an opportunist right-ward political development. That will become clear fairly quickly.
